Skiers from 21 countries on 4 continents took part in Bieg Piastow in Szklarska Poreba-Jakuszyce in Poland. Despite spring-like weather and high temperatures in Izera Mountains, Bieg Piastow was held on the last pieces of the skiable course.
Distances of this traditional cross-country skiing event were extremely shortened (8, 10 and 8 km instead of 15, 50 and 26 km). 30 km in free technique was cancelled. Winners of all three competition are the same: Benjamin Seifert (GER) and Natalia Grzebisz (PL).
Although organizers gave advance notice, that distances will be shortened and proposed transfer of the entry fee on the next Bieg Piastow in 2015, majority of racers have decided to come to Szklarska Poreba-Jakuszyce in 2014. In three main races took part more than 2000 people. - Thank you! For all of you, who came to us, also for those, who didn’t come – told OC Leader.
