Today, on October 4th the 3rd Tartu City Marathon’s children’s races were held with a record number of participants: 2637.
“To be honest, we were extremely positively surprised there were so
many participants,” said Indrek Kelk, the race director of the Tartu
City Marathon. “We are very happy to see so many children running in the
heart of the city.”
“When we can’t name the Tartu City Run and Tartu City Marathon in the
top three biggest running races in Estonia, we can definitely say that
Tarty City Marathon’s children’s races and Tartu Jooksumaraton’s
children’s races held in May are the biggest children’s races in Estonia
and Baltics,” added Kelk.
Tartu City Marathon’s children’s races were held for the 3rd year and
last year, there were 2144 participants. Today, there were about 500
children more, 1904 of them participated in TILLUraces (up to 7 years
old) and 733 in MINImarathon (8 years and older).
