XIII traditional international Rostec Demino FIS/Worldloppet Ski Marathon 2020. Day 1.

XIII traditional international Rostec Demino FIS/Worldloppet Ski Marathon 2020. Day 2.

16/09/2013

On 8 September Öppet Spår Sunday became fully booked and during the following Thursday September 12 the entry ceiling for the 26th TjejVasan was also reached, almost two months earlier than last year. The world’s biggest ski race just for ladies has attracted 10,000 entries to take on the 30 kilometres from Oxberg to Mora on Saturday 22 February 2014. For the third consecutive year, the race will be transmitted direct in Swedish Television’s Winter Studio.

TjejVasan is now full and the ceiling of 10,000 entries reached earlier than ever before. Last year the race was fully booked on 30 October. However, those who were unable to enter TjejVasan can instead choose to ski KortVasan, which is run on the day before. KortVasan also starts in Oxberg and is over the same 30 kilometres course. Just now there are about 2,000 places left in KortVasan, which is open for both ladies and gents. Ladies who intend to do Tjejklassikern can thus choose to ski KortVasan instead of TjejVasan.

Four of the eight races in Vasaloppets Winter Week 2014 are now fully booked. There are places left in KortVasan, Öppet Spår Monday, HalvVasan och UngdomsVasan. More than 85 percent of the whole Vasaloppets Winter Week is thus already full!

Who will win?

Susanne Nyström has been the shining star in TjejVasan over the last seven years with six wins and a second place, together also with a victory in Vasaloppet in 2010. TjejVasan 2014 is run the same day as the ladies 30 kilometres in the Olympic Games in Russian Sochi. Chances are therefore good that TjejVasan will be an attractive alternative for those who have not been selected for the Olympics.
