XIII traditional international Rostec Demino FIS/Worldloppet Ski Marathon 2020. Day 2.

06/11/2013 60.000 registered participants!!!
Vasaloppets winter week 2014, when the 90th Vasaloppet will be decided is, as previously noted, attracting a record number of registered entrants. With 66,800 entries registered now are, for the first time ever, all the ski races fully booked. There are, however, still places left for the younger, in UngdomsVasan and Barnens Vasalopp.

On Friday the number of entries to HalvVasan reached, for the first time, the ceiling of 5,000 participants. And thus all races in Vasaloppets winter week are fully booked and a total of 66,800 training hungry skiers eagerly await the cold and some settled snow. Since Öppet Spår was introduced in 1979 it has never before happened that all the ski races were completely full. There are still places left for children and youths, for those up to 16 years old in UngdomsVasan and, for smaller children, in Barnens Vasalopp.
“This is a unique situation. Since Öppet Spår was introduced in the 70’s we have always been able to suggest to potential participants other races in the winter week, but now this is it! We are naturally pleased with this continued enormous interest but, of course, it is sad that we cannot find places for all who want to take part. We will now dedicate all our powers to ensure that this winter’s record arrangement will also be the very best ever,” says Vasaloppet’s CEO Anders Selling.
One of Vasaloppets biggest objectives is to be an engine behind physical exercise in sports, training and general public health. That our arrangements are filled all the more earlier means that even more have our races as their great aim behind a whole years training.
“We are proud to be able to engage in this way so many people and contribute to the positive health effects that a race entry most often involves. We know that our participants, on average, train some three hours per week in the last months before their races and that, at the same time, it has become more and more usual that training also becomes a social activity. A little simple maths give a dizzying picture of Vasaloppet as a popular national movement,” says CEO Anders Selling.
