XIV traditional international Rostec Demino FIS/Worldloppet Ski Marathon 2021. Day 2.

19/12/2013 Are you in as well?!

No two Transjurassienne’s are alike… and this 36th edition will be marked by “novelty”. Since his recent appointment as the president of Trans’Organisation, Hervé Balland wishes to bring his own touch and a different angle to his “first” Transju. In the summer of 2013, a think tank regrouping regional experienced athletes was created – Marie-Pierre Guilbaud, Vincent Defrasne, Alexandre Rousselet, Sylvain Guillaume, Emmanuel Jonnier, Guy Balland -, along with Trans’Organisation members. Their objective is to suggest changes and enhancements to the 2014 Transjurassienne and Transjeune agendas, taking into account the development of cross-country skiing in France and abroad. Focus on the 2014 novelties!

The course
The nominal track is a priority for Trans’Organisation, starting in Lamoura and finishing in Mouthe. The work conducted with the state services, the Parc naturel régional du Haut-Jura and the Groupe Tétras Jura led to the signatures of conventions that meet all parties’ expectations. The environmental impact file is being examined and is progressing positively. The official authorization signed by the Prefect of Region and Prefect of Jura regarding the nominal track and the first 3 back-up tracks will be published at the beginning of January. The request regarding the exceptional use of the back-up track n°4 will be addressed by the Prefect of Jura if and when needed.

Entertainment and activities of la Transjurassienne 2014
In order to make the Transju villages and especially Mouthe more attractive, the entertainment committee and the associations of the Val de Mouthe area have created the “Espace ludique Transju’”. An outdoor area dedicated to snow activities and located near the finish line that will offer a large variety of possibilities. The sensation lovers will test the Zorb ball, a giant ball to roll around on the snow field, the purists will go for ski joering, families can ride down the sled tracks, and the budding champions will be the first to ski under the finish arch (Sunday only). The Savoureuse tournée du Comté will make a stopover to delight the gourmets: tasting and cooking workshops for adults and children…

Solidarity and involvement!
For the 3rd year in a row, La Transjurassienne will welcome La Sapaudia. A team of anonymous skiers and famous champions - Hervé Flandin, Sylvain Guillaume ou Corinne Niogret -, will promote bone marrow donation in the 76km FT.
“Skier pour elles”, the winter version of the association “Courir pour elles”, will join in the solidarity movement with a slogan: “Physical activity in the fight against cancer”. Their objective is to raise public awareness of the benefits of sports against breast cancer. Those who wish to participate can join in the 25km classic event. The group will be led by Marie-Pierre Guilbaud, the instigator of this remarkable action.

In the heart of the race!
For the first time, the skiers will have the opportunity to be monitored through a GPS chip (requests to be addressed to MyGeolive). Racers’ supporters will then be able to follow them live all through the race. Trans’Organisation will also equip about 10 elite skiers on Saturday and Sunday in order to follow the progression of the race and the development of the leading pack. The MyGeolive interface will be available on and in the finish area in Mouthe. The public will also be able to follow up on their favorites through their bib numbers via the site:

La Transjurassienne, a living heritage of the Jura Mountains!
As of January 2014, specific Transjurassienne markings will be visible along the 76km nominal track. Cross-country ski lovers will then be able to identify the Transju track all through the winter season, even if they do not participate in the event. The objective is to include the famous track in the Montagnes du Jura’s living heritage… The operation is being implemented in collaboration with the representatives of the sites along the tracks of La Transjurassienne.

New start and finish areas for la Transjeune… but still in Les Rousses!
More than 2000 children aged 7 to 19 gather each year in the ski resort of Les Rousses for the fun of competing or the pleasure of sharing a cross-country skiing day with classmates or ski-club friends. On January 29, the ‘champions to be’ will take their start from the new Transjeune site located at the Collège du Rochat, and finish at the same place! This new configuration will offer the audience a good overview of the events and allow them to participate in the ski celebration!

France Bleu Besançon, La Transjurassienne’s radio station
Once again this year, an important multimedia coverage is being implemented on A variety of information will be available regarding the events: live broadcasts, archives, portraits, personal results, reports, entertainment, back-stage info, photos and videos of past and present events!

Local industries supporting la Transju
A group of Franche-Comté industrial companies with a passion for the Transju, are ready to promote and financially support La Transjurassienne. Through their involvement, the association Trans’Promo was created and is presided by Daniel Arnaud. Three major companies are already involved in the 2014 agenda: the eyeglass frame manufacturers Oxibis and Marius Morel as well as the packaging company Lacroix Emballage… They expect to be backed by more craftsmen and businesses shortly.
