There aren’t many places in Europe to ski comfortably in the
middle of April. But Khanty-Mansiysk (Russia) offers a great opportunity
to prolong winter! The final stage of the FIS Marathon Cup, “Ugra Ski
Marathon” will take place in the oil capital of Russia on 11th of April
2015.
We guarantee perfectly prepared track that will be laid on the ice
of the great Russian river Irtysh. Minimized vertical drop will allow
not only professionals but non-professional skiers as well to cover 50
km distance. Your competitors will be the members of the Russian
national skiing team.
At Khanty-Mansiysk, you also have a chance to get acquainted with
the unique history of the indigenous Khanty and Mansi peoples of the
North, to try their national dishes, and to learn about their ancient
customs. Moreover, all skiing enthusiasts will have an opportunity to
train on the tracks of the Aleksandr Filipenko Winter Sports Centre,
where biathlon World Cup stages and biathlon World Championships (2003
and 2011) take place; and on the oldest ski track in town at the Dolina
Ruch'ev stadium.
Registration for the marathon is already opened!
