10 days left to the start of the major popular ski event in Russia – the 8th Demino Ski Marathon Worldloppet. More than 1700 people registered for the marathon weekend. Skiers from 25 countries including Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, and Israel, together with ski lovers from 52 regions of Russia will start their long snowy journey on March 14-15, 2015.
The organizers expect to meet world famous athletes on the course of the Demino Ski Marathon. Jan Vadlejch will prove his 23rd Worldloppet master finishing the Golden 50 km race. Olympic Champion in Turin Evgeny Dementiev will challenge Aleksandr Panzhinsky and Alexey Petukhov, silver and bronze medalists of the Olympic Games in Vancouver.
There’s a great job done backstage. Remembering last year’s dramatic weather conditions, the organizers prepared a good 25 km lap to secure the event from extreme spring changes. Unfortunately, they could not make a 50 km lap as the rivers did not freeze this winter.
The agenda of the Demino weekend includes the Golden 50 km FT race, Silver 25 km CT race, and 50 km CT Russialoppet race with ski exchange that is a new event in the Demino calendar. Demino baby marathon will bring children to snow making the ski weekend a real sport joyful festive.
5 continents will meet on the beautiful Demino course to compete in the most spectacular event in the Russian marathon calendar. The organizers are happy to host the biggest marathon in Russia and welcome everyone to join the race!
