The former General secretary of Worldloppet, Arne Andersson, died the 16th of October, 85 years old. During the years 1988-1990 Arne together with his wife Carin worked with the administration of Worldloppet at the office in Mora. This made Vasaloppet a more active member of Worldloppet.
Arne was also at this time responsible for the creation of the first skiteam, Scania, an important step for the development of crosscountryskiing.
Arne worked a lot to raise the status of Worldloppet among the top athletes. During his time as General secretary, the economy became better, he also worked with similiar rules for all the races.
Worldloppet remembers with joy and gratitudes the work Arne did for the sport of crosscountryskiing around the world.
Arne was also the chairman of IFK Mora during 15 years and in Vasaloppets Marknads AB for three years. He was also member of this board for many years.
A good friend for a long time, a man who really loved the sport of ski, has left us but we will always remember his work for Worldloppet, Vasaloppet, IFK Mora and the sport of crosscountryskiing.
