November 28, 2011 – Partnership and business cooperation agreement signed between the two major Russian marathons.

The history of the Murmansk Ski Marathon as well as Prazdnik Severa lasts more than half a century, and on April 1, 2012 there will be the 39^th marathon, gathering the strongest cross-country masters. Before 2007 the Demino Ski Marathon was not regular in official cross-country calendars. Only after hosting the FIS World Cup cross-country Rybinsk took seriously the organization and carrying out of a real annual sport event. A good result followed right away. Demino gathered more than 1000 participants of the Demino Ski Marathon from Russia, Europe, and Asia in season 2010-2011. Success of the Demino Ski Marathon drew attention of the International Ski Federation (FIS). In summer 2011 the Demino Ski Marathon received a status of an official candidate to the Worldloppet series of best ski marathons of the world. In case the Demino Ski Marathon enters the Worldloppet, skiers from Russia will have a unique chance to participate in the official FIS ski competitions having a level comparable to the FIS World Cup cross-country.
