In the run-up to the Olympic Games – 2014 the Russian Government took another step towards the global sports community. On May 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree of the introduction of visa-free regime for entry into the country for athletes, coaches, team leaders, members of foreign official delegations, as well as chiefs of competitions owing to the international sports competitions.
According to the official website of the President (http://www.kremlin.ru/acts/18099), now the entry and the exit of the country for this category of persons come to be on the basis of valid identification documents acceptable by the Russian Federation, as well as an accreditation card, issued by the organizer of the international sport competition. The form of this certificate is also set by the event organizer and must be coordinated with the Federal Security Service of Russian Federation. The list of international sport events and the length of stay in the country in connection with participation in these events are confirmed by the Government of Russian Federation.
The Organizing Committee of the Demino Ski Marathon hopes that the marathon will be a part of a general list of international competitions, which will be covered by this Decree. It will open Russia and the first Russian marathon WORLDLOPPET for the bigger number of athletes from all over the world. The decree became effective from the date of its signing.
