According to the results of the XVIII traditional Rostec Demino Marathon, 4,280 participants finished the seven races of the program. During three marathon days - February 28, March 1 and 2 - the Demino Ski and Biathlon Center was visited by 18 thousand people - athletes and fans.
Representatives of seven countries of the world - Russia, France, Belarus, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Israel - took part in the races of the XVIII traditional Rostec Demino Ski Marathon.
The marathon was unprecedented in terms of representation of Russian regions. Athletes from 86 out of 89 subjects of the Russian Federation came to Demino.
The marathon was also a record-breaking event in terms of the amount of effort put into the creation of the track. Lack of snow and plus temperatures in Central Russia caused a number of ski competitions to be canceled. Working around the clock, involving volunteers and volunteers, the organizers created a dense track and held the marathon in accordance with the standards of international starts.
- For the first time in the history of the Demino Marathon, 23 kilometers of the course were made of artificial snow. This is the work of a large team, which despite all the difficulties proved that even the impossible can be made possible,” said Igor Samoylov, Director of the Demino Marathons.
As part of preparations for the marathon, the issues of comfortable conditions for athletes and fans were worked out. In particular, the food court was planned differently, increasing its area and changing the menu. The changes received positive feedback from the guests of the sporting event. We organized the All-Russian Ski Fair on the square in a new way - it became more convenient.
- I would like to thank everyone who participated in organizing and holding the ski event, creating a festive mood, organizing meals, transporting people to Demino volunteers and all concerned residents who helped in preparing the track. We worked harmoniously, as a team. We will summarize the results, determine what turned out well and what can be improved for the next marathon. We already have an agreement with Governor Mikhail Evraev to install a large 16-meter screen. We will continue to work on improving the level of the largest ski marathon in the country, - said the head of Rybinsk Dmitry Rudakov.
For the next marathon the head set the task to organize fitting rooms at the sports fair, to continue work on the cultural program, the opening of the marathon - the plan is to make it even brighter, festive. Perhaps to move the flash mob, which creates a positive mood before the start of the race, to the coaches' exchange, so that it was visible to athletes at the start and spectators in the stands.
