According to data from the Russia Running platform, from March 3 to 5, 4,245 people took part in the five races on the program. There were 4,157 finishers in the five disciplines. That's 800 more people than last year. There were 247 participants of the baby-marathon excluding the time. All in all, more than 10 thousand spectators and participants have visited the sporting event in Demino Biathlon and Ski Center for three days.
- A large team is working on the marathon organization. Everyone contributes to the development of this event, which is very important for the whole ski Russia. The best assessment of our work is love and trust of the participants who grow larger and larger every year. This year we have introduced a number of changes, we are now getting the feedback from the athletes, and we will definitely take it into account when preparing for the new XVII Demin Ski Marathon, which, by the way, has already started," said Igor Samoilov, the director of Demin Marathons.
Golden 50 km race became the most popular race in the history of Demin's marathons. There were 2591 participants who finished it, which is more than last year's result by 263 people.
Athletes from 57 regions of Russia and 6 countries took part in the race. The stars of the skiing sport were the Olympic champions Nikita Kryukov and Denis Spitsov, the bronze medalist of Vancouver Nikolai Morilov, the last years winner Raul Shakirzyanov and the representatives of the professional marathon team "Russian winter".
Andrey Alipkin, an athlete from Ryazan, became the triumpher of the gold race. The best result among women was gained by Elizaveta Pantrina from Tyumen - 02 hours 10 minutes and 21 seconds. The record of the Demin route - 1 hour 44 minutes - still belongs to last year's winner Alexander Bolshunov.
More than 500 amateurs and professionals participated in the silver marathon race on 25 kilometers in classic style. The best results were shown by the leaders of the professional marathon team "Russian winter" Ermil Vokuyev (01:01:53) and Olga Tsareva (01:09:48).
During three days Demino Biathlon Center was visited by 5,800 fans who had passed the obligatory registration.
