This year, for the convenience of the participants, changes have been made to the configuration of the course of the XVI International Rostec Demino Ski Marathon. With the increase in the number of participants, additional measures have been taken to ensure safe and comfortable passage of the distance. The changes affected both the starting corridor and sites in the area of ​​local villages.


2,800 people registered to participate in the main 50-kilometer Rostec "golden" race of the Demino ski marathon. This is a new population record. For the convenience of athletes, the organizers changed the number of starting waves from eight to five. Two waves will be 400 people each, two - 600 each, and the last fifth - 800.


— We analyzed those places where the wave catches up with the wave. To avoid congestion, we made an additional parallel first ascent. If we see that part of the wave has not risen, let's start the next one along the parallel section. Volunteers will stand in this place and, according to the situation, prompt, direct in order to evenly load the track, - said Igor Samoylov, the director of the Demino Marathons.


Partially changed the configuration of the track. The first new site was formed near the village of Pirogovo. Previously, the ski track passed through the village and interfered with the residents. The organizers found the opportunity to bypass the settlement. The section of the track is ready for the marathon.


The second section is located between the villages of Vasilevo and Sedlovo. Here the track for 800 meters went along the public road. Now the track only crosses the road in four places. The organizers of the marathon will additionally form a snow cushion on the sections crossing the track before the starts so that the participants do not damage their skis.


At the moment, experts assess the condition of the track throughout as good. Despite the thaw, the snow cushion is dense. Weather risks are minimal. The preparation of the marathon distance does not stop, so that on March 3, 4, 5, participants can enjoy a great sports festival, which has been the Demino ski marathon for 16 years.


Rostec Demino ski marathon is the largest ski marathon in Russia. Russialoppet leader in terms of the number of finishers in the main race. In the 2022 season, the winners of the Demino ski marathon at a distance of 50 km were Alexander Bolshunov and Natalya Nepryaeva.
