The best specialists of the country, who participated in the formation of the Olympic courses in Sochi, work on the preparation of the Rostec Demino Ski Marathon course throughout the year. Every year the organizing committee takes into account the comments and wishes of the participants, making changes. This season the track will partially change its configuration and become even more comfortable and safe.
The track of the XVII Rostec Demino Ski Marathon has been paved since December. Unlike previous years, there are no concerns about the safety of the snow cushion, there is a lot of precipitation this winter. Now the readiness of the marathon course is 80%, but it will be in perfect condition by the start. This year the track was widened on dangerous sections and descents and bypassed the village of Belovskoye.
- Previously, the track went straight through the village of Belovskoye. Now athletes will bypass the village from the right side. Three sections of the track were widened, where earlier there were traffic jams. Now it will be comfortable on the climbs, and the descent at the 18th kilometer, which the participants feared, has become wider, visibility - better, which means that there will be far fewer falls on it, - emphasized the director of the "Demino Marathons" Igor Samoylov.
During the remaining month before the start of the marathon the track will be rolled by tractors, places for catering facilities will be prepared and markings will be installed. The total length of the golden distance of the XVII Rostec Demino Marathon is 50 kilometers. It will still be held in two circles of 25 kilometers each. The other distances - 25, 10, 5, 2 and 1 km will be organized in one circle. Russia's biggest ski marathon will be held at the Demino center on March 1, 2 and 3.
Rostec Demino Ski Marathon is the largest mass ski marathon in Russia. The leader of the Russialoppet rating by the number of finishers in the main race. In the 2023 season, the winners of the Demino Ski Marathon at a distance of 50 km were Andrei Alipkin and Elizaveta Pantrina. The course record - 1 hour 44 minutes and 3 seconds - on the marathon distance belongs to Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov. The general partner of the competition is Rostec State Corporation.
