A four-meter high figure of a moose made of snow was erected at the stadium of the Demino Ski and Biathlon Center. The Rostec symbol of the Demino Marathon will be clearly visible to the participants at the start and finish line, as well as to the spectators in the stands.
The blank for the figure made of compacted snow was formed in a wooden box in the center of the Demino stadium. The construction material was brought and tamped down by special equipment. After that, the sculptor started to carve the figure. With the help of a shovel and an electric chain saw Alexander Kuzmin gave the snow mass recognizable features of a moose from the Rybinsk forests.
It took eight days to create the snow sculpture itself, now it is puttying - leveling the surface. Painting is ahead. We need to catch the weather. Optimal conditions - a small "minus". At a plus paint will be absorbed into the snow. And we need a bright scarlet moose - the symbol of the Demino Marathon, - said the artist Alexander Kuzmin.
Alexander has a great experience in making snow figures. His works include bright sights of sports events in Demino - ski marathons and stages of the World Cup in cross-country skiing. He created a pair of four-meter bears with fish, various snowmen and a fifteen-meter pike.
On March 1, 2, 3 the fans of the XVII Rostec Demino Ski Marathon will enjoy a rich program of sports, cultural and entertainment. Three days of exciting and bright races, and in the breaks between the start and finish the best concert numbers of creative groups of the city and the district, animation program, photo zones and dolls, trade fair and food court are waiting for the fans.
