Supporting the Rostec International Demino ski marathon, if not by participating, then at least as a guest and fan, has become a good tradition among famous athletes of our country. The fifteenth anniversary marathon will not be an exception. At the start and on the podium it will be possible to meet active athletes of the Russian national team and honored veterans of skiing.
This year, legendary guests are expected at the marathon: four-time Olympic champion Nikolai Zimyatov, three-time medalist of the Winter Olympic Games Alexander Zavyalov, Olympic champion in 2010, silver medalist of the 2014 Olympics and coach of the Chinese team Nikita Kryukov.
Vancouver Olympic bronze medalist Natalya Korosteleva, 2010 Olympic bronze medalist Nikolai Morilov, world champion and Olympic medalist Alexei Petukhov will run marathon distances.
Famous athletes will be supported by their children. Two sons of Alexey Petukhov and a son of Nikolai Morilov will take part in the children's races of the Demino marathon.
- A month before the start, all 2,500 places for the main 50 km race are booked. In total, almost 3,900 people from 59 regions of Russia and 10 countries submitted applications. Among them are 33 Worldloppet masters. These are participants in at least ten world series marathons on two continents. And 67 participants with the title of "Legend". These are the finishers of all Demino marathon ski races since 2007, - said Igor Samoilov, director of the Demino Marathons.
The XV International Rostec Demino Ski Marathon will take place on March 6 and 7 at the Demino Ski Center. There are six races in the marathon program: for 50 kilometers - gold, for 25 kilometers - silver, for 10, 5, 2 and a baby marathon for a distance of one kilometer.
